2019 Reedy River Duck Derby Charitable Recipients

The Rotary Club of the Reedy River Greenville is focused on supporting organizations serving children of all ages in the Greenville community and the world. Here is a list of some of the groups we support.


EarlyAct FirstKnight (EAFK)
We sponsor two EAFK programs in schools within and around the Greenville Community Robert E. Cashion Elementary and  Powdersville Elementary. EAFK is a character development program built on the principles of the Rotary Four Way Test. Learn More

Mauldin Miracle League
Members serve as “buddies” to the children for the league’s baseball games. We are also proud to support them with our charitable giving. Learn More

United Ministries (formerly GAIHN)
The mission of the United Ministries is to assist local congregations to share hospitality (in the form of emergency shelter, meals, and short-term housing) with homeless families that include children, and to help those families achieve self-sufficiency and self-fulfillment. Learn More

Robert E. Cashion Elementary 
Annually we donate dictionaries to all third graders. In previous years, our club provided a new concrete pad, flagpole and American flag for the school. We have also provided the teachers with carpet squares to use in their classrooms. Beginning in 2013, Cashion Elementary began participating in the EAFK character building program. Learn More

Habitat for Humanity
Our club regularly participates in builds for new housing for families in need within the Greenville community. Learn More

Girls on the Run
A PRISMA sponsored program, Girls on the Run provides girls aged 8-14 with transformational physical activity-based positive youth development. This includes basic life skills, interactive lessons and running games.  Learn More

Trees Upstate
TreesUpstate, formerly known as TreesGreenville, is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005. Our mission is to plantpromote, and protect trees in and around Greenville County. Learn More

Chicora Voices
Chicora Voices offers quality musical instruction in the choral setting, promoting artistic and personal excellence, musical literacy and healthy singing habits, for a lifetime of enjoyment of the choral art.Focused artistic effort toward a common goal allows the children and youth to build team work, character, responsibility, and friendships in addition to experiencing rewarding musical accomplishments. Learn More

Switch is leading effort to fight against ongoing sex trafficking and sexual exploitation happening every day in the Upstate. Learn More

STRIDES Tutoring
We happily support STRIDES Tutoring as they provide individual academic instruction to children and youth who are at risk for academic failure. If a child falls behind in these basic skills, research shows that they are unlikely to graduate from high school. STRIDES tutoring can change that. Learn More

Carolina Youth Symphony
This program encourages artistic excellence in a nurturing environment by providing the highest quality orchestral training and performance opportunities to qualified musicians, grades K-12. Our club is proud to support CYS by sponsoring concerts, making them free of charge for the community. In 2019, our club supported the holiday concert financially and through volunteer hours as ushers. Learn More

Rotary District 7750 Water Project
This district-wide project is supported by many clubs in the area and represents a multi-year, ongoing initiative to bring clean water to even the most remote villages in Honduras. Our club sends both funding and representatives to support this vital project. Learn More
